Michael Buble has surprised his fans by saying he’s officially retiring from music in his “last interview.”
And the singer gave his son Noah‘s devastating cancer battle as the reason!
Buble, 43, spoke to the Daily Mail and explained that after hearing 3-year-old Noah’s diagnosis, ‘You just want to die. I don’t even know how I was breathing…
“My wife was the same and even though I was the stronger of the two of us, I wasn’t strong. My wife was… I’m sorry, I can’t make it to the end of that sentence.”
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Buble and his wife Luisana Lopilato‘s world was turned upside down when they were told their eldest son, Noah, had cancer in November 2016 by a Los Angeles hospital after medics in her native Argentina had said they thought the youngster had mumps.
Brave Noah had chemotherapy and an operation for liver cancer before his parents revealed that his treatment was progressing well.
Noah is now 5 and in remission—but it’s made his famous dad want to leave his show business career.
Buble and his actress wife Lopilato, 31, raise three children together; Noah is their eldest.
Both of them put their careers on hold to deal with their son’s medical crisis.
Now Buble apparently will make the break permanent after he released his new album, “Love,” telling Daily Mail he wants to leave music at the “very top” after making the “perfect record.”
He added that he was “embarrassed by his ego.
“I don’t have the stomach for it any more. The celebrity narcissism. This is my last interview. I’m retiring…
“I decided I’ll never read my name again in print, never read a review, and I never have. I decided I’d never use social media again, and I never have,” he said.
Buble told his interviewer, “Why are we here? Is this all there is? Because if this is all there is, there has to be something bigger. My whole being’s changed. My perception of life.”
“I’ll never put the ego of the job ahead of my family….There was never a choice [when Noah was ill].”
Buble and actress/model Lopilato got married in 2011 in Buenos Aires.
